Una Día

Welcome to the blog of two sisters. Two sisters who are working and supporting two husbands as they further their educations. Two sisters who budget, beg, and borrow when they must. Two sisters who use student loans to pay for health care. Two sisters who, despite and maybe because of all this, dream of what is to come.

We are constantly happening upon fantastic finds that we hope to have someday - una día. Sarah actually coined the phrase, to help ease the longing that follows "We can't afford that." Follow us through a Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn or Banana Republic and you're sure to hear at least one 'una día' utterance. We are proud of our unclaimed treasures, and strong enough to refuse the temptation of swiping plastic and carrying the booty home.

I had the idea of starting a blog to catalog our discoveries. Rather than clogging our email accounts with pictures of cute stuff we find, we'll just post it here. Maybe some of you are living post 'una día' and will benefit from our scouting, while others of you are right where we are. We invite all of our friends to play along. Send us emails (autumn.lockett@me.com) of your own would-be conquests with a quippy description and we may even dedicate a post to you. Think of this blog as retail therapy, without the debt.

To kick things off I'm posting a picture of a ring that I'm dreaming of these days.
*You can click the picture of the ring for more information.
My sweet daughter, Ava James, was born in January so her birthstone is a garnet. I've never seen such a brilliant red garnet, it's almost ruby-esque. I would love to have a right-hand ring, since my super dorky metal allergy prevents me from wearing my Aggie ring. If I squint my eyes I can almost imagine how it would look on my finger.

Una día,
Autumn

  1. Oh man...this blog will be so relevant to me in just a few short months! Maybe I should purchase and stock-pile all of my "una dia" items now... Yeah. Probably not. Sigh.
